so i saw msi in concert on sunday and tuesday. i'm putting both recaps in the same post, and i'll try not to make it too long, but the second show was THE BEST CONCERT EVER, so i might get carried away haha.
the first concert was in memphis, and while waiting outside in line i talked a bit to this girl and her mom. apparently they go to a lot of shows together, i thought that was pretty cool. then i was inside, about four rows back near the middle. i chatted with this guy and girl and convinced the girl she should go to the birmingham show also. we made vague plans to meet up there since we'd both be going alone. i also ended up next to these three girls i'd talked to in the parking lot. one of them was so tiny, i admired her bravery haha. there were also these two annoying hot topic teenie girls right in front of me who talked very loudly about inane things and who almost got in a fight with a few different people. like, the one girl was bitching at the guy in front of her because he was apparently touching/squishing her? if you think you're going to be near the front in the middle of the pit at a msi (or bascially any) show and not get touched, you're seriously deluded. everyone around them was like, welcome to concerts! by this point, the daughter i'd talked to earlier was right next to me. this girl squeezed in front of us and kept hitting us with her purse (she kept switching which shoulder it was on), and we made faces at each other and mentioned how annoying it was when people brought purses to shows like this and how ridiculous it was to think you weren't going to get bumped into. she stayed next to/behind me the whole show; we helped each other not lose our spot.
the first band was dearestazazel. i liked them more this time than the first time i saw them, but idk if i can take them seriously (they have songs called "get on board the drug train" and "she sells sex by the sea shore," seriously). they're pretty entertaining, though.
the next band was die so fluid, who i knew nothing about and ended up really liking. they have a female lead singer/bassist; she wore this tight sparkly body suit that was kind of awesome. there was a lot of interaction between her and the guitarist, like standing back to back or close front to front, or one of them going down on their knees in front of the other. i enjoyed it all.
the crowd got pretty crazy; i was on the peripheral of the moshing but managed to get away from it (and the annoying teenies). i had a really good spot and could see all of msi really well (except steve, sadly). i'll talk more about specifics later, since there were a lot of the same things in the two shows. for faggot, jimmy brought up these two girls who were front and center and had apparently been there since like 2pm. they actually knew the words and seemed to be enjoying themselves, which was nice. they totally made out on stage too, which made lyn-z smile.

bring the pain was pretty awesome; it was just jimmy singing from the beginning till "swayze," and then the rest of the band started playing.
aaand, some videos:

not the best sound quality, but you get a good view of lyn-z doing the backbend :D
i took a few pics, they mostly suck and are blurry, but whatever:

jimmy praying to miley cyrus lol

after it was over, the security guards told everyone to leave so i went outside. i saw steve and got a picture with him:

this was the best of the three attempts, ha.
i waited around for a little bit then started walking to my car. on the way i saw a group of people around the bus, so i went over and there was lyn-z. she went on the bus though, and i waited for a little, but it was almost midnight and i had a 3.5 hour drive back home and i was seeing them again in two days, so i left. it was a very fun time!
tuesday was the concert in birmingham. i got there about an hour before the doors opened and met up with the girl from the other show. the cool thing about this venue is they have a bar that opens before the doors are supposed to, so you can wait inside instead of outside. i was the fourth person in line! concert buddy and i chatted with the two people in front of us. the girl was a big mcr fan; we talked about gerard's hotness and various hairstyles. then they let us inside and we headed straight for the front. i was on the right of the four of us, basically right where lyn-z would be. the other cool thing about this venue is there wasn't a barricade! we were touching the stage, which was pretty low, like right below my crotch. here's a picture to give you an idea of the closeness: ridiculous. i was next to these four drunk guys and their sober friend. two of the guys started making out, and one of them kept asking random people to kiss him. no thanks. they were kind of annoying, but i mostly ignored them.
i always get nervous before a concert, and the whole day i'd been extra nervous (so nervous i couldn't really eat, which means i had to be pretty freaking nervous, heh), and it got worse in the hour we had to wait for the show to start, but it was more nervous excited. dearestazazel opened again, and i decided i kind of like them. well, i think i like them more than their music, but still. the bassist was right in front of me; he's really energetic and jumps around a lot. and sweats like whoa, i definitely got sweat droplets on me, ha.
i took some pics of them this time:

this is not zoomed in at all. so close!

the lead singer. i'm just now noticing the hole in his pants.

bassist. his zipper was down, ha.

guitarist. he and the singer switched for part of one song. he was awesome.

they did this can can dance for one song.

heh
then die so fluid came out. the singer was right in front of me; we made eye contact a couple times, which was awkward but cool. i still really enjoyed them.

the setlist. it was upside down.

singer/bassist

then msi came out! i'd never been in the front row before; they were so close, it was insane. i've totally been ruined for all other concerts. so yes, they were supremely awesome.

oh, i kind of had a confrontation with someone! towards the end of the set, these two very drunk/high girls try to shove their way to the front. they start bitching at people in front of them, and people are just like, you should've gotten here earlier! so one of them moves behind me to my right and is sticking her hands near my face, which i tried to ignore. then she wraps her arm around my throat like she's going to choke me, so i dig my nails into her arm (not as effective as it could be since i'd just cut my nails) and shove it away. i turn around and tell her, don't put your fucking arm around my neck. she's like, don't hog the stage! (which, wtf? i'm in front of you so you're going to choke me?) i tell her she should've gotten there earlier, and she calls me a bitch. i call her a bitch and turn around. the girl to my right links arms with me, and i grab onto my concert buddy's arm on the other side so we could stop the two girls from getting in front of us. everyone else around us was trying to keep them away, too. they were behind me for a little while, shoving and elbowing me, and i elbowed and kicked them and stomped on their feet (so mature, i know, but i wasn't going to put up with that shit). later i noticed that one of them had put gum in my hair! they were fucking ridiculous. they later got kicked out.
okay, on to the good stuff!
-jimmy is so crazy on stage! i love it when he dances, it's hilarious. he also did some kung fu moves and karate chopped steve on the back haha.
-whenever jimmy came near the edge of the stage, people reached for him. i touched his shoe, ha. he also had his crotch grabbed several times. he must not have minded the groping too much, because it didn't stop him from coming back ;)
-jimmy also slid on his back across the stage, and i touched his leg. idk, everyone was grabbing for him, i felt the need to join in.
-people kept throwing money on stage, and jimmy was like thanks, we were hoping for tips.
-at one point, steve held the neck of his guitar and swung back like he was going to hit people with it, haha.
-steve also sucked on the end of his guitar. i was kind of attracted to him in that moment.
-lyn-zzzz. she is adorable. she smiles at people in the audience and laughs at things jimmy says and sings along. we made eye contact a couple times; i smiled at her but kind of wanted to look away! it's strange.
-this girl in the front had on black fingerless gloves that were really similar to the ones lyn-z was wearing. she went over to the girl and asked if they were the same. she felt her hand and said they were almost the same.
-we briefly held hands! oh yes.
-lyn-z jumped on/kicked the speakers a lot. when she jumped on them her crotch was basically RIGHT IN MY FACE. i let out a surprised eeek! every time she did that. she bent the screen on the speaker one time, and held up a finger and was all "shhh!" haha.
after the show, kitty threw her drumsticks into the audience. me and concert buddy both grabbed one, but we let the girl we'd met earlier have it since she really wanted it. and now, some videos.
shut me up:
stupid mf:
watch the end, jimmy has the mic in his pants and is letting someone in the audience bang on it. it goes "do do do do do" "do do," it was pretty funny. if you watch it you'll know what i mean.
faggot:
there's no one else up there with them because the guy jimmy picked couldn't make it up onto the stage. idk why he didn't go to the side where there were less people. and stairs.
my vid
i was trying to record lyn-z stomping at the end of never wanted to dance but apparently didn't push record. when i pushed it again to stop, it started recording, but i quickly stopped it. i'm posting it because you can hear the guy next to me yell something kind of obscene.
tornado (mine!):
pretty much just lyn-z, since i could see her the best. this was as far back as i could get!
jimmy praying to miley cyrus (mine!):
before this he says, "as you all know, we're a christian band" lol.
pictures! i took quite a few, and i'm posting them all, the good and the not so good:

i love this picture.

steve's awesome shoes.

i'm kind of proud of this picture! cut off bass and all.

the guy next to me kept putting his arm in my way.

steve wrapped the mic cord around its stand and was dragging it around.

jimmy with the mic in his pants.

right after he was sliding on the floor.

jimmy being eighty years old haha.

i took this to show lyn-z's sock, idk what happened to it.

kitty wiped her drums off after this haha.

this is one of many "i'm not really looking at what i'm taking a picture of" pics.

AWESOME.
and then it was over. my concert buddy got the setlist and gave half of it to me! here:

that's kitty's signature on the left, jimmy's in silver, steve's right below that, and lyn-z's at the top. they didn't play bitches or i hate jimmy page.
jimmy came out to sign autographs and such

he was sitting, but then got down off the stage. i had him sign the setlist and took a picture of him and concert buddy. he took her glasses off and put them on and commented on how blind she was. he reached his hand out like he couldn't see and put his hand on my forehead. he was pushing my head back and saying "where are you? i can't see you!" and i was like, "i'm right here!" haha.
then i met kitty and had her sign the setlist, and then i went over to steve. he saw the girl i'd met in line and called her over because she was wearing a jeffree star shirt. he told us that apparently jeffree star was at one of their shows recently in new york and blogged about it, saying that msi weren't very good with their fans (which is total bs; msi consistently come out after their shows to meet the fans and such) and that they didn't have control of their music, which steve thought was crazy because they've been independent for years. he said it was because jeffree went to the show and no one paid him any attention, ha. msi didn't even know he was there. so i had him sign the setlist, and this other guy came over and steve told him he looked like jimmy's brother. the guy was like, he must be an ugly motherfucker and steve was like, hey, he's one of my best friends!
jimmy was still hanging out, so i went over and got a picture with him:

he wanted us to stand back to back, ha.
then i went outside to see if lyn-z was there (she wasn't) and ran into the two kids i'd met in line. we waited out front near the bus to see if she'd come out. i said, maybe she's talking to gerard, and the girl was like omg i would die. we talked about what we'd do if we got to meet gerard (ftr, i would also die). then she finally came out for a smoke, so the three of us walked over. the girl and i took pictures of each other with lyn-z.

:D
and because i'd been wondering about it, and i bet other people were too (
turnyourankle, i think you asked about it), i asked lyn-z about the tattoo on her thigh. she laughed and said it was something she drew and got done when she was seventeen, and that she'd thought it looked tribal haha. then i thanked her and left. i'm very glad i decided to go to this show, and even though i'm sore and bruised it was definitely the best of the five times i've seen them. &msi;
oh wow. if you made it all the way through that, i'll give you, idk. sexual favors ;)
